Bonus benefit

The bonus benefit is an allowance paid annually by CMRC, in the form of a bonus. This benefit is in addition to the supplementary retirement pension already paid by AGIRC-ARRCO, according to a calculation method set out in the law. The people who can benefit from it are those who retired before 31 December 2023, and receive a CAR and AGIRC-ARRCO pension for their salaried activity in Monaco.
Conditions
  • Condition of Rights
    • For beneficiaries of a direct CAR pension:
    • To benefit from the bonus, the applicant must have retired from CAR and AGIRC-ARRCO before January 1, 2024.
    •  
    • For beneficiaries of a CAR survivor's pension (surviving spouses and orphans):
    • To benefit from the bonus, the applicant must receive a survivor's pension from AGIRC-ARRCO before January 1, 2024.
    • The right to bonus opens:
      • Either on January 1, if the applicant also benefits from a CAR survivor's pension on this date
      • Or on the effective date of their CAR survivor's pension, if it is set after January 1, 2024
    • Surviving spouses and orphans who would be entitled to an AGIRC-ARRCO supplementary retirement survivor's pension after January 1, 2024, benefit from this payment from the date on which they receive both the CAR survivor's pension and that of AGIRC-ARRCO.
Application for bonus benefit
  • How to Make My Application
    • If you are eligible, you do not need to take any action.
    • You will be contacted directly by the Retirement Service from spring 2024, who will send you an application form
    • This form must be returned to the Retirement Service, accompanied by the following supporting documents:
      • A certificate of receipt of a supplementary retirement or survivor's pension under the ARRCO, AGIRC, or AGRIC-ARRCO regimes;
      • If applicable, proof of executive status during the employee's professional career in Monaco (salary slip, AGIRC points statement, etc.)
    • Important : Your complete request must be sent to the CMRC within a maximum of 18 months from the date the form is sent by the Retirement Service. No request can be submitted beyond this deadline.
Calculation
  • How Is the Number of Bonus Points Calculated
    • To calculate the amount of the bonus benefit, a number of bonus points is determined, in the first year, from:
      • The amount of your CAR pension(1)
      • Your non-executive /executive equivalent or executive status, during your career in Monaco.
    • The number of bonus points is calculated as follows:
      • If you have benefited from “non-executive” status throughout your career in Monaco:

      • If you have benefited from “executive equivalent” or “executive” status during your career in Monaco:

    • (1) For the calculation of the annual amount of your CAR pension, only points acquired from employers who have contributed to AGIRC-ARRCO for periods of salaried or equivalent activity in Monaco before January 1, 2024  are taken into account.
    • Points linked to activities carried out as a non-permanent CHPG agent or as an agent of the State or the Municipality are not taken into account.
  • How Is the Amount of the Bonus Calculated
    • Each year, the amount of the bonus is calculated as follows:
    • (Number of bonus points) X (Number of months of receipt of the CAR retirement pension during the reference year) (1) X (Monthly bonus point value)
    • The monthly value of the bonus point is set annually by Ministerial Decree. For the year 2024, it is set at 0.006675 euros.
    • It corresponds to:
    • (1) Pour le premier exercice, qui s’achèvera le 30 septembre 2024, le nombre de mois de perception de la pension de retraite CAR correspond à la période de janvier à septembre 2024 et est plafonné à 9.
Payment
  • Payment Arrangements
    • The supplementary retirement pension enhancement benefit is paid annually before November 30 following the end of the financial year.
    • Exceptionally, the first payment – which concerns the year 2024 – may be made during the year 2025 if the examination of the applications submitted requires it.
    • The bonus benefit is paid, by transfer, to the same bank or postal account as that used for the CAR pension.
    • Each payment of the bonus benefit is final. Any reassessment of the amount of the benefit that may occur on the basis of new supporting documents will only take effect for the future.
